Life in Motion: The Lansdale Project

In 2013, the Borough of Lansdale, Pennsylvania unveiled new community branding to enhance the image of the municipality both within and outside the borders. This branding is part of a broader effort to revitalize and rebuild the downtown district, promote a variety of new and existing community activities, and attract new businesses to the area.

The theme for this branding is "Life in Motion."

A new web site for the borough is a major part of this project. In fall, 2013, the borough issued a public Request for Proposals for a one-year project to photograph all aspects of life in Lansdale for use both on the web site and in print publications. After a committee debate, Chris Stanley was chosen for the project, and began photographing in December.

While most municipal web site include picture of buildings, parks, streetscapes, and some events, the goal of this project is to dig deeper and capture the spirit of the community using the Life in Motion theme as a guide. To accomplish this, Chris is drawing on his many years of experience as a photographer and web editor in the area, as well as work on several previous municipal web site projects in Bucks and Montgomery counties over the past decade.
